The eye of Horus is looking back through the cameras and ever watching eye of technology

The theme of the painting: The watchers become watched and the world is entering the new stage of social structure, and accountability

About this piece of art

“Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.” by French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, and technology by reflection is also what we do with what is done to us, as exceptionally changing landscape of technology affects our social structures. This painting is a reflection on the Eye of Horus as a symbol of protection, power and well being and how it transcends metaphorically into our situation with technology today.

The original vision (result of active imagination while reading Jung’s Red book) behind this piece was the primordial question of life and death and what happens in between if anything. It was a dream surrounded in two sides by the steep mountains populated with the mystical trees, which is the lower part of the painting, the entire red and warmer colours are depicting this forest of mystery where all the demons of our collective imagination reside.

It is a boiling atmosphere, much like the way the pool of genetics is full to the brim with the options and alternatives, where only being frozen in time is an impossible concept. Our consciousness is made of the same patterns and proportions, maybe even rules governing it but unlike genetics, it is unquantifiable. It is elusive and has the option to stand still, no matter how difficult that may be through meditation, yoga and other spiritual practices that favour a special skill to have no thoughts for a period of time.

The Eye of Horus is the emergence of this moment that stays forever, it is an abstract notion that doesn’t exist in nature, it represents the geometric shapes and formats that go beyond colour and enter the world of shapes ruled by the power of time. This painting’s eye of horus is the all seeing eye of technology that stores all the data absorbed into the visual cortex and tries to analyse to the points of materialization.

It is precisely at this point of materialising through technology that Malevich’s Supramatism emerged as a format through which we should explore in total separation the world of our abstract thoughts divorced from nature, as we can never find in nature perfectly geometric forms.

It is the point of harnessing the power of time, and making the form exist in several spaces/colours at the same time, it is the dance of the angles. That is why the Eye of Horus is a representative symbol of one of the most significant early deities in Ancient Egypt by the name of Wadjet, a serpent symbol.

oval and non- approval.

Charlie and Earling were floating from one angle to another of time continuum and were observing the organization of space through architecture starting with the first cave adjustments, then bringing the cave to the plain with architectural fortifications, called fortresses. The next state was for many buildings of architectural ingenuity to become status symbols arising as a result of religious and societal belief system that was very important in uniting large groups. Finally, the shape shifting nano technology that acts like an outer space suit in the body of a titan against the atmospheric, gravitational, solar conditions on or outside of the planet.

Earling: Ancient Egypt left behind the skeleton of their imagination in the architectural form, making the world wonder how did they manage to reach such a state of unity to strive in producing something greater than themselves that stays forever.

Charlie: You are right there, stays forever! Every piece of invention that survived until the age of computers, will stay with humanity as long as humanity exists. It is the ever seeing eye of technology through the invention of camera that documents non stop.

Earling: 21st century witnessed a great misuse of such technology. Those steering the control of the ever seeing eyes wanted to do what any intelligent being does: 1.find a pattern, 2.classify into hierarchy and 3. influence and manipulate. However, they forgot the original idea humanity envisioned in the ancient times and that is to -restrain yourself (save others from your own best intentions) from invisible/subconscious manipulating even if it doesn’t do any harm- because the consequences will follow and become visible soon enough.

Charlie: The eternal balance between the striving force that wants to change life in accordance to the vision vs being wise enough to allow enough time and space for the object of change to find it’s own autonomy.

Earling: It is a circular process of learning, practising, teaching that almost always results in leaders and followers, but fortunately 21st century is seeing the fragmentation into smaller and smaller niche groups of such an order and eventually almost all never ending learning will become teachers.

Charlie: The shell of confidence, or rather and more commonly false confidence is largely present in the civilization that just emerged from unified belief system, there are numerous inhibitions and fears from public, Colosseum and online judgement that recruits the hordes of likers or dislikers.

Earling: This is precisely why we need an Eye of Horus as a symbol of protection and a bacon that shines back upon the judging eyes/cameras with the message that it is all irrelevant, only crystallization of great ideas and visions will count against the test of time.
