The primordial will power that transcends from biological striving to intellectual abstractions on the threshold of transhumanism

The theme of the painting: Exploring the aesthetics, and representation of will power through Black Jaguar in the forest as named by the child

About this piece of art

It happens often that black colour is psychologically associated to power, elegance, movement on this Earth, but it also represents the vast space that occupies this universe. Black, which could also be interpreted as the absence of light is much more universal to any other colour in existence. It represents the void, mysterious, unknown, invisible, it is everywhere.

The question is, when we mimic this omnipresent element through colour black, are we trying to see almost endless power through the universe, that it represents? Is that why color black is considered extremely auspicious in some cultures and mourning color in others. A black cat has equally opposing connotation among different belief systems, maybe they reflect their embrace of the unknown blackness of the universe or else trying to hide away from it by labelled negative associations to black identities.

In my particular case, black Jaguar was an animal of fascination from the early childhood, and like any patriot loves their country and comes back to it whatever happens, I regard my childhood as a homeland, because that is where I was formed and I admired the blackness surrounding us that allowed the stars to shine, the elegant shape of a Panthera to move silently, almost invisibly through the forest, cloaked in darkness which it represents.

It is maybe the collective knowledge that also resides somewhere in the darkness of our collective subconsciousness, some call it Akashic records. It appears that technology is already making a documentation of everything that ever happened since it’s invention, as more and more individuals are becoming part of the World Wide Web and their influx of information is exponential.

It is only a question of time when we will have everything recorded within the confines of the clouds, where we increasingly keep all our data. Information however is sterile without that unexplainable energy, an intention that moves things around, a fuel of the universe seems to be in the primordial will to power, and that is exactly what we are depicting in this Black Panthera.

Charlie and Earling were in the simulator and they wanted to experience the pre subatomic and atomic existence, a point of release as the Big Bang exploded, and established the general rules that those inhabiting this space will have to follow and succeed within those boundaries.

Earling: When we look at the theory of Big Bang, I can’t help but compare it to the way of thinking that humans practise through inventions, artistic visions, and general solutions. At first, it is a blurred mass of energy, sometimes even a hunch, but the more time they spend in identifying the purpose, pattern, logic behind it, the more it takes shape and ultimately becomes self sustainable life.

Charlie: I am glad that you visualized the image of the Big Bang, and actually compared it’s pattern to the actual thinking processes in many cases. I really look forward to the times when technology on Earth will be capable to visualize the difference between various thoughts in their patterns and compare to the above image.

Earling: It seems to me that the bases of understanding is in the comparison, and pattern findings and while it is all so easy to calculate the orderly world, what happens with the chaos that precedes it, and entropy that surpasses it?

Charlie: Dionysus and Apollo happen, in fact it is mostly Dionysus linked to original chaos and entropy while Apollo takes the middle aspect rearranging in orderly fashion, the chemicals, atoms, thoughts and angular transformation. Come to think of it, cubism in art seems to be portraying the brute force of Dionysus coming through against the shapes of Apollo principle. The elegance of this dance suggests that the two opposing systems are collaborating, it is a non zero sum game.

Earling: Nietzsche was greatly interested in Greek tragedy and summarized the two dancing principle, Apollonian as a voice of reason of an individual that goes by the rules, calculates and reasons hard facts, whereas Dionysian is the voice of Will, to power, ecstasy, enthusiasm and music, because those state of mind lead to forgetting about the ego and eventually start merging with the greater whole.

Charlie: Out of all the chaos and sheer primordial power a panther emerged carrying Dionysus on it’s back, spreading terror and fear among the “decent” population and probably, remind many of what they truly authentically are. Rather than just suppressing their thoughts of negativity for the sake of status, they should use them and convert them into fuel that heats the primordial soup.

Earling: Mesoamerican cultures in particular venerated the jaguar, that coexisted with them. They combined the feature of jaguar and a human, not only in art, but also in practice through shamanism, believing that the soul that has the protection of jaguar will be able to successfully pass through various spirit realms unharmed.

Charlie: This is another recognition of the darkness behind all the light, that fuels power and while ancient people recognized it and tried to harness through ritual and art work, a 21st century human seem to be in some cases focused on positivity that suppress and chooses blindness to darkness, so that the lifestyle doesn’t get disturbed.

Earling: Humans always want to figure out the recipes, the short-cuts anything that will yield the best result with the minimum effort and that is a great thing, because technology wouldn’t have happened if they worked just harder, as George Orwell portrayed in his Animal Farm through the character of Horse, which ended tragically. Humans will find their way through percentages, because the social Goldilocks of life is in the balance between many opposing elements that always compete for dominance.
